Who can apply?
  ¨ CSD prefers to deal directly with manufacturers and NOT with intermediaries. In case manufacturer does not undertake marketing, “All India Sole Marketing Agent” appointed by the manufacturer for both civil and CSD (NOT MERELY FOR CSD ALONE) may apply. The applicant firm should also be in possession of requisite documents such as SSI Certificate, Factory Licence, Sales Tax Registration etc, as stipulated in the application form to establish the crendentials of the firm. Also CSD deals directly with firms and NOT THROUGH SELF APPOINTED AGENTS AND TOUTS, as introduction system eliminates any outside influence. An undertaking from the firm, as per Appendix “B” (para 13-c) on Rs.20/- non judicial stamp paper, duly notorised is sought from firms. THIS NEEDS TO BE ENSURED. Also page Nos.17, 48, 52 & 56 of Application forms regarding MIDDLEMAN AGENTS/TOUTS ARE TO BE BORNE IN MIND.  

For which items application can be made?
  Items of day to day use such as Toiletories, Kitchen Wares, Electrical Appliances, Hosiery, Luggage, Packed Food items, Liquor items, White Goods, Cars, Two Wheelers, and Miscellaneous household requisites can be considered.  

Is it necessary that the items should be available in civil market for any specific period?
  The items for which application is made should be available and established in civil market. No application should be made for the item exclusively for CSD.  

Is it necessary that item should be available all over the country?
  Items for which application is made should be well established in the civil market with adequate sale and should be available in metro-cities and major towns of the Country.  

What are the terms of despatch?
  CSD prefers direct deliveries to its all 34 Area Depots located across the Country on F.O.R. (DOOR DELIVERY) basis. In case the firm is not having the infrastructure for such arrangements, deliveries can be made at our Mother Depot at Mumbai Base for which appropriate Freight Rebate will be deducted for the bills. In either case, however, no Freight Charges will be paid to the supplier.  

Is there any preference for Ex-serviceman?
  15 percent of 30 items (listed in the application form) are reserved for Ex-serviceman Enterprises. However, they should be at par with others in terms of competitiveness, cost and quality while procedure for Introduction of items remaining the same.  

Is it mandatory to furnish Bank Guarantee?
  Yes, with a view to safeguard Govt. Funds, orders are placed only for the quantity for which requisite Bank Guarantee is available with the Department. Exemption from Bank Guarantee can be considered only for the Govt. Companies and in respect of the firms having more than 3 Crores of turnover with CSD for three consecutive years and the firm is registered with CSD for more than five years.  
What are the essential documents required to be submitted as far as prices of the product are concerned?
  The applicant company needs to submit its first point trade invoice pertaining to the lowest trade price (without local taxes & levies) in the Country with a certificate/declaration to that effect. If the applicant is not a manufacturer, invoice raised by manufacturing Company/Contract manufacturer be also submitted.
